MEETING OF THE LEGAL COMMITTEE OF THE PP TO STUDY THE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST PARDONS
On June 25, Javier Zarzalejos participated in the meeting of the Popular Party legal committee, chaired by Pablo Casado and Teodoro García Egea. The different ways that the party will take to appeal the government’s pardons to the convicted were studied in the meeting.
The party’s legal action will be based, fundamentally, on the report issued last May by the Supreme Court, which was directly opposed to the granting of pardons.
The PP, which is going to defend the equality of Spaniards, considers that the pardons are a political payment to the independentists so that Sánchez can stay two more years in La Moncloa.
The meeting was also attended by Enrique López, secretary of Justice and Interior of the PP; Fernando de Rosa, spokesperson for the Senate Justice Commission; Luis Santamaría, spokesman for Justice in the GPP in Congress; Isabel Borrego, General Secretary of the Popular Group in Congress, and Isabel Benjumea, MEP and Vice President of the EU Regional Development Commission.
