ZARZALEJOS PARTICIPATES IN THE “BUSINESS FORUM SPANISH PRESIDENCY OF THE EU” ORGANIZED BY THE MADRID CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
On November 14, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid organized the “Business Forum of the Spanish Presidency of the EU”, in order to address the new challenges in terms of sustainability, social commitment and corporate governance.
The conference, inaugurated by Eva Serrano, vice president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid, was started with the participation of Juan Manuel López Zafra, general director of Economy of the Community of Madrid, and María Ángeles Prieto Arroyo , General Director of Economy of the Madrid City Council.
The meeting covered four sections: the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan; European legislation and the benefits and obligations in terms of sustainability; the cameral strategy within the framework of the Spanish Presidency and the progress achieved in the Sustainable Development Goals.
Paz Guzmán, Economic Counselor on Representation of the European Commission in Spain, explained the main lines of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
For his part, Javier Zarzalejos was in charge of speaking about sustainability in corporate governance, focusing on the new proposal for a directive from the European Commission on diligence in the area of sustainability.
