SOLEMN ACT IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE VICTIMS OF THE TERRORIST ATTACKS IN ISRAEL

Gathering in support to Israel in front of the European Parliament in Brussels in presence of Roberta METSOLA, EP President and Members

On October 11, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola convened MEPs and Parliament staff in a solemn moment to remember all the victims of the terrorist attacks in Israel over the weekend, to show solidarity with all those attacked and to call for the immediate release of all hostages.

The horrific terrorist attacks perpetrated in Israel over the weekend have left more than 1,000 people killed, thousands injured and nearly 100 women, children and men still being held hostage.

We in the European People’s Party unequivocally condemn the heinous attacks and brutal actions of Hamas terrorists against Israel. There can never be any justification for resorting to terrorism, which must be defeated absolutely and collectively.

We support Israel, which has the right to defend itself in accordance with international law against these terrorist attacks. We also express our deepest sympathy to the people of Israel and extend our deepest condolences to the families who have lost loved ones. Our thoughts are with those whose family members have been taken hostage by Hamas terrorists.
