SUMMER UNIVERSITY AND STUDY DAYS ORGANIZED BY THE EUROPEAN PEOPLE’S PARTY PARLIAMENTARY GROUP

MEP Javier Zarzalejos participated in the summer study days and university organized by the European People’s Party Parliamentary Group in Split, Croatia, on September 26 and 27.

Both the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, attended the meeting, as well as other leading figures of the party.

Among the activities organized, the preparation for the European elections in 2024 was the highlight. “Our Study Days are the last big meeting of the European People’s Party family before the European elections to discuss priorities for the remainder of the mandate and the European campaign,” said MEP and Chairman of the European People’s Party Parliamentary Group, Manfred Weber. “We need a Europe that matters to people and unites them, that protects and shapes our common future,” he stressed.

In addition to preparation for the 2024 elections, issues such as agriculture and the future of rural areas were also on the agenda. Innovation, labor infrastructure and a fair Europe were also topics of discussion, as well as European security, artificial intelligence and enlargement.

Zarzalejos participated in the panels dedicated to the future of the center-right in the European Union.
