MIRIAM RAJAVI, LEADER OF THE IRANIAN OPPOSITION IN EXILE, VISITS THE PARLIAMENT IN STRASBOURG
During this plenary session, Miriam Rajavi, leader of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, visited the Parliament in Strasbourg to discuss with MEPs the situation in Iran and the horrible repression that the regime is carrying out against the Iranian population.
During an event attended by MEPs belonging to all political forces, Javier Zarzalejos stated that Iran has become a global threat. “The Iranian regime acts in Gaza through Hamas, in Lebanon and Syria through Hezbollah, in Yemen through the Houthi faction, and is Russia’s main ally in its invasion of Ukraine.”
The MEP stressed that the internal situation in the country, where new legislation has been introduced with harsher measures against women, is untenable for any democratic sensibility. He expressed his solidarity with those inside Iran and in exile who are united in opposing the regime and his support for the reform plan led by Miriam Rajavi for a free, secular, democratic and pluralistic Iran.
