MEETING WITH UNED STUDENTS AND PROFESSORS AT THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

On November 28 and 29, the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) held an international congress at its Associated Center in Brussels under the title “Elections 2024. The challenges of the European Union”, and in which topics such as European identity, the current prospects of the European Parliament as a representative body, the challenges of Artificial Intelligence for justice, governance and the rule of law, and European security and defense in the face of the war in Ukraine were discussed.

Thus, the group of students and professors led by Professor of Constitutional Law, Carlos Vidal, had the opportunity to visit the European Parliament and to participate in various meetings with several MEPs.

On behalf of the European People’s Party, Javier Zarzalejos received the group. The attendees had the pleasure of having the participation of the Director General of the Legal Service of the European Commission, Daniel Calleja, who addressed the various challenges to the Rule of Law, and the Head of Cabinet of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Camilo Villarino, who explained the priorities of the foreign policy of the European Union.
