HEARING COMMISSIONER HADJA LAHBIB

On 6 November, the Commissioner-designate for Crisis Preparedness, Crisis Management and Equality, Hadja Lahbib, was heard in Brussels. During his speech, Javier Zarzalejos expressed his sincere condolences to the victims of the tragic floods in Valencia. He underlined the importance of the candidate’s portfolio, highlighting the increasing role the Commission has to play in crisis management. Zarzalejos emphasised that security risks, ranging from defensive and technological threats to climate change and health crises, require a robust approach to anticipate, prevent and manage crises.
