The Chair of the LIBE Committee<\/strong> of the European Parliament, Javier Zarzalejos<\/strong>, spoke on March 5<\/strong> at the inaugural session<\/strong> of the High-Level Forum on the Future of EU Criminal Justice<\/strong>, organized by the European Commission<\/strong> in collaboration with the Polish Presidency of the Council<\/strong>. The event was attended by European Commissioner for Justice, Michael McGrath, and Polish Minister of Justice, Adam Bodnar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During his speech, Zarzalejos emphasized the importance of a coherent and effective European criminal policy<\/strong> to strengthen the rule of law, ensure internal security, and protect fundamental rights<\/strong>. He also highlighted the LIBE Committee\u2019s commitment<\/strong> to reinforcing judicial cooperation<\/strong> and harmonizing substantive and procedural criminal law in the EU<\/strong>, while respecting the diversity of national legal systems.<\/p>\n
