THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT REMEMBERS THE VICTIMS OF 7 OCTOBER ON THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF THE HAMAS ATTACKS

MEP Javier Zarzalejos attended a commemorative event at the European Parliament on the third anniversary of the terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas in Israel on 7 October 2023, in which approximately 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken hostage. European Parliament President Roberta Metsola took part in the commemoration, paying tribute to the victims of the attacks and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to combating terrorism and antisemitism. The event also acknowledged the suffering of the victims and their families, as well as the severe humanitarian consequences of the conflict in the Middle East. It further underscored the importance of ending the violence and moving towards lasting peace in the region, based on security, stability and a two-state solution.
